In modern conditions of development of sports science, the validity and reliability of research results are of particular importance. This necessitates the widespread use of methods of mathematical and statistical data processing, which allow not only to generalize the information obtained, but also to draw scientifically substantiated conclusions regarding the effectiveness of the training process, the level of preparedness of athletes and the influence of various factors on their performance. Methodological approach to mathematical and statistical processing in sports research involves the systematic application of quantitative methods of analysis, which ensure the objectivity of the interpretation of experimental data. An important aspect is the correct choice of statistical methods in accordance with the purpose of the study, the nature of the sample and the type of indicators obtained. This allows to increase the accuracy of assessing the changes occurring in the process of sports training, as well as to determine the patterns of development of physical qualities and functional capabilities of the athletes' body.
