Культура в контексті багатокультурного суспільства

В статті розлядається поняття «культура» у мультикультурному суспільстві. Культура мультикультурного
середовища розглядається як нестатичне явище, що здатне еволюціонувати і вбирати себе нові культурні зразки.
Надано визначення мультикультурного суспільства, що включає в себе не тільки суб'єктів, а також і стратегію
освітнього втручання. Описано вимоги до особистості учителя, що включають запобігання конфліктам, затвердження
принципів співіснування різних культурних груп, підвищення продуктивності та надання можливостей для
інтелектуального та морального розвитку усіх особистостей.

Topic of the article concerns the concept of culture. The article focuses on peculiarities of culture in a multicultural society. At
the beginning the author describes different approaches of scientists to defining culture, paying a special attention to the definition given by F. Dervin who states that culture in a multicultural society is not static, it can absorb new patterns and evolve. Culture is described as a social characteristics of a person which influences his/her approach to life, way of thinking etc. The author also points out that global society today is multicultural, and the concept “culture” does not correspond to the idea of global multiculturalism so some scientists use the concept of cultural genesis. In a pluralistic society is it important to define requirements to the teacher as he/she is the facilitator of culture and supporter of a multicultural approach to teaching, The author underlines that not all the teachers nowadays realize the importance of multiculturalism in teaching. She points out the requirements of the European Union to the personality of a teacher who should learn to organize the co-operation of students which is free of conflicts, productively solve problems, learn to communicate with representatives of other cultures, enrich their own horizons and world outlook thanks to new knowledge about different cultures.
