Міжнародна взаємодія архівних інституцій Канади в галузі створення архівних електронних ресурсів

Стаття присвячена історії співпраці міжнародних організацій в галузі створення електронних ресурсів, зокрема у розробці Міжнародного стандарту архівного опису. Визначено внесок канадських архівістів у розвиток цього актуального напрямку сучасного архівознавства. Зроблено акцент на тому, що архівна справа різних країн як галузь, тісно пов’язана з формуванням офіційних документальних ресурсів держави та джерел історико-культурної спадщини, що саме вона одною з перших почала втягуватися в процеси інформатизації суспільства.

The article is devoted to the history of cooperation between international organizations in the field of archival digital resources, particularly in the development of international standards of archival description. The Canadian archivists’ contribution to the development of this modern archival direction was defined. The emphasis has been made on the fact that different countries archiving as a sector is closely linked with the formation of the official documentary sources and resources of the state historical and cultural heritage that it is one of the first to get involvedin the building of information society.It is underlined that the invention of Internet technology has allowed countries tojoin efforts in the elaboration of common approaches and principles, including distribution of documents agreed at international forums and meetings. It is proved that in 2004, the focus in Canada was aimed at creating a common integrated system of information on the composition of archival resources and national electronic network. It is concluded that understanding of the importance of conservation and use of archival heritage has led to a significant material support to the process of informatization public records from the Canadian government. Canada actively participated in the creation and implementation of standards for archival data initiated by the ICA. The main relevant standards in the field of digital archival resources were: MARC-format (Machine Readable Cataloguing) (with national variations), MODS (Metadata Object Description Schema), METS (Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard), PREMIS (Preservation Metadata - Implementation Strategies), DCMI (Dublin Core Metadata Initiative), in developing the participation of national institutions (including libraries) Canada. Although national standards in the process of reconciliation have been brought into line with international, they retained their specificity.
