Наукова та громадсько-педагогічна діяльність Г. Ю. Храбана (1902 - 1990 рр.)

Abstract

Уперше в українській істріографії комплексно досліджено наукову, громадську та педагогічну діяльність Г.Ю. Храбана. Проаналізовано стан опрацювання цієї проблеми. Вивчено широке коло опублікованих і архівних джерел, значну частину яких уперше введено до наукового обігу. Виявлено фактори, що вплинули на формування особистісного світогляду та громадянської позиції Г.Ю. Храбана. Здійснено періодизацію його життя та творчості. Акцентовано на важливості громадської діяльності історика, визначено його роль і місце в організації музейної, пам'яткоохоронної та краєзнавчої роботи. Детально розглянуто участь Г.Ю. Храбана у підготовці матеріалів до написання тому "Історія міст і сіл Української РСР. Черкаська область". Висвітлено співпрацю історика з провідними науковими установами, діячами науки та літератури. Увагу приділено аналізу внеску дослідника у розвиток історичної науки. Доведено, що дослідження Г.Ю. Храбана мали новаторський характер і є важливою складовою загального контексту історії України другої половини XX ст.

The thesis is the first complex survey of H. Y. Hraban's research, social and pedagogical activity in Ukrainian historical studies. It has analyzed the way the subject is researched using a wide range of previously published and archive sources most of which have been introduced into scientific circulation. It has outlined the factors which influenced the formation of H. Y. Hraban’s personal outlook and social position as well as defined the stages of his life and activities. It places a great emphasis on the historian’s social activities as well as defining his role in the organization of museum, sights preserving, and local history work. The thesis supplies a detailed analysis of Hraban's part in preparing materials for writing the volume „The History of Cities and Villages of Ukrainian SSR. Charkas Region". It shows the historian's cooperation with research institutions, scientists and writers. Special attention has been paid to the researcher's contribution to the development of historical studies. It has been proved that H. Y. Hraban's research has had an innovative character and has made an important component of the general context of Ukraine's history in mid-late 20th century.
