Лейпциг у біографії Ріхарда Вагнера

Розглянуто перебування чотирнадцятирічного Ріхарда Вагнера у Лейпцигу протягом 1827–1832 років, періоду після його повернення сюди з родиною з королівського Дрездена та початком самостійної музичної роботи у Вюрцбурзі керівником хору в міському театрі. Наголошено на тій духовно близькій йому художній атмосфері в Лейпцигу, у якій формувався майбутній оперний реформатор. Розкрито його зв’язки з Лейпцизьким університетом, з церквами святого Фоми та святого Миколая, з оркестрантами Гевандхаузу, музичним товариством «Евтерпа». Серед цікавих музикантів, з якими спілкувався Р. Вагнер у Лейпцигу, були Крістіан Готліб Мюллер, Крістіан Теодор Вейнліг, співачка й актриса Вільгельміна Шредер-Деврієнт, диригент і композитор Генріх Дорн. Звернення до їх біографій дає змогу розкрити особливості музичної освіти в Лейпцигу протягом першої третини XIX століття, після перебування там Й. С. Баха і до заснування у цьому місті першої німецької консерваторії. Охарактеризовано діяльність сучасного Лейпцизького Вагнерівського Товариства (Richard-Wagner-Verband Leipzig) на чолі із засновником і президентом Томасом Краковим (Thomas Krakow).

Relevance of the study is due to fact that in musicology is still little known about Leipzig period in Richard Wagner’s biography. The main objectives of the study are to describe the peculiarities of Leipzig musical life and to determine the nature of the creative relationship of young R. Wagner with other experienced city’s musicians during the period between 1827 and 1832. Methodology: the research is based on the biographical method. Results of the study are important to take into consideration while determining the value of the Leipzig period in young R. Wagner’s life; also, this information complements the general picture of the artistic life of Leipzig after J. S. Bach’s stay there and before the establishment of the first German conservatory in this city. The author has considered the stay of fourteen-year-old Richard Wagner in Leipzig from 1827 to 1832; it was a period after his return with his family to this city from the royal Dresden. Lately, he has begun his independent musical work in Würzburg as the choir leader in the city theater. The article focuses on the art atmosphere in Leipzig, spiritually close to the genius in which the future opera reformer was formed. His connections with the University of Leipzig, with the churches of St. Thomas and St. Nicholas, with the orchestra performers of Gewandhaus, are revealed. The musical society “Euterpa” played an important role in the musical life of the city. The orchestra of this association consisted of professionals and amateurs; there were the soloists of Gewandhaus, students and teachers of the University, pupils of Thomasschule. Thanks to the association “Euterpa” young composers and conductors were able to receive some practical experience. R. Wagner also joined to this process. Among the interesting musicians with whom R. Wagner had contacts in Leipzig were Christian Gottlieb Müller, Christian Theodore Weinlig, singer and actress Wilhelmina Schroeder-Devreent, conductor and composer Henry Dorn. The appeal to their biographies makes it possible to reveal some peculiarities of musical education and culture in Leipzig during the first third of the nineteenth century. Also, the attention is paid to the activities of the modern Leipzig Wagner Society (Richard-Wagner-Verband Leipzig), led by its founder and president Thomas Krakow. The article uses some information from the latest publications of this R. Wagner Society.
