The scientific article comprehensively examines the process of the formation of art schools in Ukraine as a fundamental factor in the professional training of future music teachers for artistic and pedagogical activities.
A significant part of the research is devoted to a retrospective analysis of leading musical centers. The study details the activities of the M. Lysenko Kyiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School, its close ties with the National Music Academy of Ukraine, and its profound contribution to the formation of the national performing tradition based on an individualized approach. In particular, the traditions of the Odesa and Kyiv schools are investigated, with a special emphasis on the innovative methods of P. Stolyarsky, which were based on the physiological naturalness of playing techniques. The paper reviews the history of the Chernivtsi school, starting from the cultural and educational activities of A. Hřímalý in the nineteenth century to a constellation of outstanding contemporary teachers. It also analyzes the formation of the Lviv school, historically shaped under the powerful influence of the advanced European traditions of L. Auer and O. Ševčík, and the Zakarpattia school, which once absorbed Czech pedagogical experience and continues to develop successfully on the basis of modern institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education. Based on the generalization of the presented material, the authors highlight a number of key factors for the successful instrumental training of a music teacher. These include an understanding of the anatomical and physiological components of the performing apparatus, a sense of freedom during performance, a strong connection between the auditory and motor spheres, flexible individualization of learning with a gradual increase in the volume of the training process, competent planning of independent work, developmental education, as well as the inseparable combination of artistic and technical development. In conclusion, the authors summarize that the national musical culture has deep historical roots, and an extensive network of art schools of various levels serves as a reliable and indispensable springboard for the professional formation of artistically mature teachers of a new generation.
