Ukrainian Linguoconceptology as an Integrative Branch of Neolinguistics: Development, Current Status, and Prospects

The paper analyses the main theoretical and methodological foundations of linguoconceptology in Ukrainian linguistics, including its formation, current state, and development prospects. The origins of this field are traced within the framework of the national linguistic tradition, particularly in the linguophilosophical ideas of O. Potebnia, which laid the groundwork for integrating semantic-cognitive and ethnocultural approaches.
The paper defines the role of linguoconceptology within the modern humanities paradigm and outlines its connections with related disciplines, primarily cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology. Approaches to studying concepts within the Ukrainian school of linguoconceptology are thoroughly analysed based on linguistic terminology dictionaries and scholarly works. This article also describes the specificity of Ukrainian-language research carried out within this scientific paradigm over the past few decades.
The definition of the concept as a basic unit of conceptual analysis is clarified, and its internal structure (core, periphery, interpretive field) is described. Criteria for the typologization of concepts according to their semantic features are outlined. Emphasis is placed on the significance of the integrative approach in modeling concepts, which allows for a deeper interpretation of the linguistic worldview as a whole. This interdisciplinary approach ensures a multidimensional vision of linguistic units. It enables the identification of not only the structural characteristics of concepts but also their value-related, emotional, cultural, and cognitive content. This, in turn, contributes to a more profound interpretation of the linguistic picture of the world and enhances understanding of the interconnection between language, thought, and culture. Furthermore, the paper highlights the current challenges and outlines the directions for future research in the field of linguoconceptology.

Стаття присвячена аналізові основних теоретико-методологічних засад лінгвоконцептології в українському мовознавстві, характеристиці її становлення, сучасного стану і перспектив розвитку. Простежено витоки формування цього напряму в межах вітчизняної лінгвістичної традиції, зокрема на основі лінгвофілософських ідей О. О. Потебні, що заклали підґрунтя для поєднання семантико-когнітивного та етнокультурного підходів. Визначено місце лінгвоконцептології в сучасній парадигмі гуманітарних досліджень, окреслено її зв’язки із суміжними дисциплінами – передусім когнітивною лінгвістикою та лінгвокультурологією. Висвітлено підходи до вивчення концептів у межах української школи лінгвоконцептології за матеріалами словників лінгвістичних термінів і наукових праць, охарактеризована специфіка україністичних досліджень, здійснюваних у річищі аналізованої наукової парадигми протягом останніх десятиліть. Уточнено визначення концепту як базової одиниці концептуального вивчення, з’ясовано його структуру (ядро, периферія, інтерпретаційне поле), визначено підходи до типологізації концептів за змістовими ознаками. Зроблено акцент на значущості інтегративного підходу в моделюванні концептів, що дає змогу глибше інтерпретувати мовну візію світу загалом. Такий міждисциплінарний підхід забезпечує багатовимірне бачення мовних одиниць, дає змогу виявити не лише структурні особливості концептів, а й їхню ціннісну, емоційну, культурну та когнітивну наповненість, що, у свою чергу, сприяє глибшій інтерпретації мовної картини світу та збагаченню знань про взаємозв’язок мови, мислення й культури. Крім того, у статті окреслено актуальні виклики і напрями подальших студій у межах лінгвоконцептології.
