Формування соціокультурної компетенції студентів ЗВО в процесі вивчення іноземної мови

У статті розглядається важливість формування соціокультурної компетенції студентів закладів вищої освіти в процесі вивчення іноземної мови, представлені погляди вчених щодо поняття соціокультурної компетенції та її складників. Охарактеризовано соціокультурну компетенцію як комплексну структуру, що включає знання про культуру країни, соціокультурний контекст спілкування, культурних особливостей носіїв мови, їхніх звичок, традицій, норм поведінки, особливості вербального та невербального спілкування, знання лінгвокраїнознавчого характеру тощо. Зазначено необхідність формування соціокультурної компетенції як чинника успішної міжкультурної комунікації.

The article deals with the importance of formation the students’ socio-cultural competence in the process of learning a foreign language. It is presented the scientists` views concerning the socio-cultural competence and its components. It is explained that concept of socio-cultural competence is an integrative formation which includes: country studies, linguistic studies, sociolinguistic knowledge and skills.
The formation of socio-cultural competence is a factor of successful intercultural communication. The socio-cultural competence is a complex which includes knowledge of the country’s culture, socio-cultural context of communication, cultural
peculiarities of native speakers, their habits, traditions, norms of behavior, peculiarities of verbal and non-verbal communication, knowledge of national linguistic aspects, etc. In article is stated that the issue of socio-psychological knowledge assimilation is necessary for the formation of students’ socio-cultural competence. The concept of mentality is described and its importance for understanding the worldview of other cultures is underlined. The importance of using non-equivalent
vocabulary is emphasized and revealed the essence of verbal
and non-verbal means of communication. In article is proved
that socio-cultural education is the key for successful formation of professional foreign-language communicative competence and the cultural material forms the socio-cultural basis of the educational and methodological complex in the foreign language learning. It is confirmed that the formation of socio-cultural competence is a cognitive and emotional process that is determined by educational, personal and practical activities. In article are given some usage tips of foreign language practical activities of university students for the formation of socio-cultural competence.
