Заохочувальні відзнаки Православної церкви України як нове явище вітчизняної фалеристики

Актуальність дослідження зумовлена активним формуванням нагородної системи Православної церкви України в умовах трансформації символічного простору сучасного українського суспільства та недостатнім рівнем її наукового осмислення у вітчизняній фалеристиці. Попри наявність окремих довідкових і описових праць, відсутній комплексний аналіз структури, функцій і символіки церковних відзнак ПЦУ як цілісного явища. Мета статті – системний історико-фалеристичний аналіз заохочувальних відзнак ПЦУ, визначення їх типології, ієрархії, функціонального призначення та ролі в сучасному соціокультурному просторі України. Методологія дослідження ґрунтується на поєднанні принципів історизму, системності та міждисциплінарного підходу. Використано методи класифікації та типологізації (для структурування нагородної системи), порівняльно-історичний метод (для виявлення спадковості між УПЦ КП та ПЦУ), а також елементи символічного та інституційного аналізу, що дозволили розкрити семантику відзнак і механізми їх функціонування. Джерельну базу становлять нормативні акти ПЦУ, офіційні матеріали, повідомлення про нагородження та довідкова література. Наукова новизна статті полягає в комплексному аналізі заохочувальних відзнак ПЦУ як самостійного об’єкта фалеристичних досліджень. Виявлено дві моделі функціонування нагород – нормативно інституціоналізовану та практико-орієнтовану; обґрунтовано існування багаторівневої структури нагородної системи (орденський, відзнаковий і медальний сегменти); визначено основні семантичні групи відзнак і їх роль у формуванні сучасної церковної та національної ідентичності. Висновки. Нагородна система ПЦУ сформувалася як структурована й ієрархічно впорядкована модель, що поєднує традиції та інституційні новації. Вона виконує не лише функцію заохочення, а й виступає інструментом символічної політики, спрямованої на легітимацію цінностей, формування історичної пам’яті та репрезентацію сучасних соціальних пріоритетів. Сучасний етап її розвитку характеризується поглибленням внутрішньої диференціації та функціональної спеціалізації відзнак.

The relevance of the study is determined by the active formation of the award system of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine within the context of the transformation of the symbolic space of contemporary Ukrainian society, as well as by the insufficient level of its scholarly conceptualisation in national phaleristic studies. Despite the existence of separate reference and descriptive works, a comprehensive analysis of the structure, functions, and symbolism of the OCU’s ecclesiastical distinctions as an integral phenomenon remains lacking. The aim of the article is to provide a systematic historical and phaleristic analysis of the incentive distinctions of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, to determine their typology, hierarchy, functional purpose, and role within the contemporary socio-cultural space of Ukraine. The methodological framework is based on a combination of the principles of historicism, a systemic approach, and interdisciplinarity. The study employs methods of classification and typologisation (to structure the award system), the comparative-historical method (to identify continuity between the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kyiv Patriarchate and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine), as well as elements of symbolic and institutional analysis, which enable the semantics of distinctions and the mechanisms of their functioning to be elucidated. The source base comprises normative acts of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, official materials, award-related records, and reference literature. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the comprehensive analysis of the incentive distinctions of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine as an independent object of phaleristic research. Two models of award functioning have been identified: a normatively institutionalised model and a practice-oriented model. The existence of a multi-level structure of the award system (order, distinction, and medal segments) is substantiated. The principal semantic groups of distinctions and their role in shaping contemporary ecclesiastical and national identity are determined. Conclusions. The award system of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has evolved into a structured and hierarchically organised model that combines tradition with institutional innovation. It performs not only an incentive function but also serves as an instrument of symbolic policy aimed at legitimising values, shaping historical memory, and representing contemporary social priorities. The current stage of its development is characterised by increasing internal differentiation and functional specialisation of distinctions.
