The article provides a theoretical substantiation of the didactic potential of 3D modeling as a tool for implementing a STEM-oriented approach in general secondary education. The relevance of the study is driven by the rapid digital transformation of education and the pressing need to introduce resources that ensure interdisciplinarity, practical orientation, and the development of students' engineering thinking. The aim of the work is to determine the pedagogical capabilities of 3D modeling and to define strategies for its integration into the educational process, particularly within the context of blended learning. The methodological framework of the study includes a complex of theoretical methods, such as an analysis of scientific and regulatory literature and a systematization of approaches to STEM education, as well as empirical methods, including pedagogical observation and the study of student 3D projects. It is demonstrated that 3D modeling transcends the purely technical mastery of software, serving as a powerful integrative tool for STEM disciplines, technology, and the arts. The study highlights key didactic functions of 3D modeling: visualization, project-based design, research, motivation, and communication.
It is substantiated that the creation of three-dimensional objects stimulates the development of spatial imagination, algorithmic thinking, design skills, and reflection. Particular attention is given to the effectiveness of applying 3D technologies in a blended learning environment, where the combination of face-to-face instruction with remote material processing through electronic educational-methodical complexes ensures flexibility and personalization of the learning process. The structure and components of an electronic educational-methodical complex, designed to foster student independence, are proposed. In conclusion, 3D modeling aligns with the fundamental principles of STEM education by orienting students toward solving real-world problems through the creation of their own digital and materialized products. It is determined that the success of implementing this technology depends on age-appropriate task adaptation, comprehensive assessment, and the availability of high-quality digital infrastructure. Prospects for further research are directed toward developing a holistic methodology for teaching 3D modeling across different age groups and scientifically substantiating the pedagogical conditions for integrating virtual and augmented reality into the school STEM environment.
