Руси на Кавказі (середина Х ст. – середина ХІ ст.)

Ця стаття характеризує перебування русів на Кавказі у середині Х – середині ХІ ст. Походів Русі на Кавказ у ІХ ст. не було. У першій половині Х ст. було здійснено два походи на Каспій, яким посприяв хозарський правитель. Участь русів у подіях на Південному Кавказі у 80-х рр. Х ст. пов’язана з появою на території Кавказу Тмутаракані – володіння Руси. Активна участь у подіях на Південному Кавказі у ХІ ст. стала можливою завдяки союзу з аланами та тим, що кавказькі володарі запрошували русів як союзників під час міжусобиць. Війна з Редедею була пов’язана з тим, що руси бажали розширити свій вплив на весь Таманський мікрорегіон. Саме завдяки контролю над Тмутараканю стали можливі далекі східні походи.

This article is devoted to the Rus' in the Caucasus in the middle of the X - the middle of the XI century. Campaigns to the Caucuses in the 9th century wasn’t real. Two raids of Rus to the Caspian Sea were carried out in the first half of the tenth century, which was assisted by the Khazar ruler. Participation of Ruses in events in the Southern Caucasus in the 80'-ies of X centuriy is associated with the appearance on the territory of the Caucasus Tmutarakan - the possession of Rus. Active participation in events in the South Caucasus in the XI century became possible due to the alliance with the Alans and the fact that the Caucasian rulers invited Rusov to participate in the internecine attacks. The war with Redede was due to the fact that the Rus' wanted to extend its influence to the entire Taman microregion. It was thanks to the control of the Tromakan that far eastern hikes were possible.
