Rapid advancement of information and communication technologies (ICT) and artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced various sectors of society, including education. Global challenges such as climate change, pandemics, and military conflicts have further accelerated the adoption of these technologies, driving digital transformation in educational practices. This study examines the role of ICT and AI in shaping education in Ukraine during the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war. Based on international research and insights from the Ukrainian university community, the study involving 458 Ukrainian educators addresses several questions about the use of ICT and AI tools in teaching and learning during these crises. The study also explores the impact of ICT and AI on the teaching and learning process, providing a comprehensive analysis of the’ perceptions and practices of Ukrainian educators. In addition, the paper presents the results of the study on the use of digital tools by educators in the dynamics. That is, not only at different stages of the pandemic and the war but also at the stage of using traditional methods and tools during face-to-face (F2F) education (before the pandemic) and in the expected postwar period. This shows changes in educators’ attitudes and perceptions of using technology. Despite technological barriers, educators acknowledge the potential of ICT and AI to sustain and enhance educational outcomes. The study offers insights into the effective integration of these tools in education, high-lighting the importance of adaptability, professional development, and innovative teaching models in times of uncertainty.
